Lead abatement of Lead Based Paint
If you live in a older home containing lead you may be at risk during a home renovation. When lead paint is undisturbed it may not be harmful, but when it is disturbed, and becomes airborne, it may put your family at risk. Children under 6 are highly susceptible to damaging important areas of the body. Thankfully through education and safe work practices you may prevent harming your home and family.Lead is very sticky and durable, which is why it was used in paint. Because it has these qualities, it is very hard to clean and very easy to spread. Imagine you filled a sugar packet with lead dust. That packet would be enough dust to contaminate your entire house and probably a few of your neighbors houses. Hard to believe , but true.
As of April 22nd 2010 firms working in pre - 1978 homes and child-occupied facilities must be EPA certified and use lead safe work practices during renovations. This includes plumbers , electricians, etc. J&S General Contractor , LLC is a Certified Firm and a EPA licensed renovator. Along with an EPA license, we have state training in lead safe practices. We also include licensed lead abatement contractor services as well.
We work closely with you to educate prior to the start of work, identify the hazard, and work safely to contain the hazard. We will clean and do all of the record keeping for your project. Also we have the ability to train any non-certified renovation workers.
